Ghost Walks can be found all around the world and the stories told in these walks can be used to explore history and cultural heritage in the locations where they are offered. Reykjavík’s downtown area is filled with many culturally and historically significant locations, but it is also filled with stories of hauntings and ghosts. We investigate some of these stories and how they tell us about bygone eras and how those that came before us lived. Ghost Stories can be used to give visitors an opportunity to imagine life, and the act of attending a ghost walk can make a visitor feel closer and more attached to an area, while simultaneously giving them an insight into cultural heritage and local history. Miðbær Reykjavíkur er bæði sögulega og menningarlega áhugaverður, en Reykjavík er líka með ógrynni af sögum um reimleika og drauga. Við munum skoða sumar af þessum sögum og hvernig þær geta sýnt okkur hvernig lífið var á tímum áður og hvernig fólk lifði. Draugasögur geta verið notaðar til þess að gefa fólki innsýn í lífið, og draugagöngur geta veitt gestum tækifæri til þess að skapa tengsl á milli sín og staðarins og gefið þeim innsýn í sögu og menningararfleið hans.
