Description
Summary:This final project for B.Sc degrees graduation is also a part of the national CubeSat programme hosted by Space Iceland (IS: Geimvísinda- og tækniskrifstofa Íslands), a S-band antenna was designed and simulated in the autumn semester in 2020, however the manufacture price for the antenna is rather high considering the limited manufacturers in the market. The spring semester in 2021 was covered by the design and manufacturing of the transceiver subsystem. The transceiver subsystem was being designed under the general CubeSat functionalities, and the designed subsystem contains 4 different modules: Microcontroller Unit(MCU) Module, Transceiver Chip Module, LVDS Module and Front-End Module. The designing process also includes the impedance matching for the transmission between the antenna and the individual devices. The project also aimed to test the basic functionalities of the transceiver subsystem such as register the devices and data transmission between the MCU and transceiver chip by using the Texas Instrument MSP430 Launchpad.
