Í pólitískri og almennri umræðu síðastliðið ár þá hefur Evrópusambandið verið ofarlega í huga almennings. Evrópusambandið hefur verið hitaumræða vegna þess að núverandi ríkisstjórn hefur dregið umsókn Íslands til baka til Evrópusambandsins. Margir hafa litið svo á að ákveðnir hlutir í umræðunni séu mikilvægari en aðrir og einn af þeim hlutum er landbúnaðurinn. Landbúnaður er eitthvað sem að margir hafa sérstakan áhuga á og hafa sína skoðun á. Í þessari ritgerð mun ég því rannsaka hvaða áhrif mun sameinaða landbúnaðarstefna Evrópusambandsins mun hafa á landbúnaðinn hér á landi ef að Ísland mun ganga inn í Evrópusambandið. Í ritgerðinni er farið yfir helsta hlutverki sameinuðu landbúnaðarstefnunnar í Evrópusambandinu, farið verður yfir helstu þætti landbúnaðarins á Íslandi, einnig verður farið yfir landbúnaðinn í Finnlandi og horft verður á inngöngu Íslands í Evrópusambandið út frá sjónarmiði kenningu úr Evrópufræðum. Í lokin verður dregin saman aðalatriðin og farið yfir þá þætti í sameinuðu landbúnaðarstefnunni sem eru jákvæðir og neikvæðir fyrir Íslenskan landbúnað. In both politic and in general discussion the last year in Iceland, the European Union has been heated topic with the citizen in Iceland. This discussion has been such a heated topic because the current government has cancelled the negotiation to the European Union. Many have thought that specific things in the discussion are more important than others and one of those things is the agriculture. Agriculture is something that many citizens have had an interest in and have their opinion. In this thesis I will try to research what kind of effect the Common Agricultural Policy will have on the agriculture in Iceland, if Iceland would join the European Union. In this thesis I will discuss the main function of the Common Agricultural Policy, I will discuss the agriculture in Iceland, I will discuss the agriculture in Finland and last I will discuss Iceland joining the European Union from a point of view of a theory from European studies.
