| Summary: | Lokaverkefni þetta samanstendur af viðskiptaáætlun og skýrslu. Verkefnið fjallar um skipulagningu á ferð frá Íslandi til Galapagos eyja fyrir lítinn hóp ferðamanna. Viðskiptaáætlunin sjálf hefur að geyma viðskiptahugmyndina, greiningu á markaðnum og markhópnum ásamt kosntaðar- og áhættugreiningu ferðarinnar. Skýrslan greinir Galapagos eyjar sem áfangastað. Fjallað er um samkeppni og gæði áfangastaða, aðdráttarafl þeirra og líftíma. Náttúrutengd og vistvæn ferðaþjónusta verður skilgreind sérstaklega og verður rýnt í markhóp vistvænnar ferðaþjónustu. Fræðilegu heimildirnar um áfangastaði og ferðamenn eru svo tengdar við áfangastaðinn Galapagos eyjar og rökstuðningur gerður fyrir því hvers vegna ferðin ætti að ganga upp í kafla um hagnýtingu verkefnis. The aim of the project was to organise a trip from Iceland to the Galapagos Islands for a small group of tourists. The business idea, market and target group analysis and the cost and risk assessments are covered by the business plan. In the report it is determined what type of destination the Galapagos Islands are and concepts such as competition and destinations’ quality, attractions and life cycle are looked into in detail. Nature based tourism and ecotourism will be defined and special attention is given to target groups for ecotourism. Theories on destinations and tourists are compared to the characteristics of the Galapagos Islands. In the concluding chapter on practical use of the project, justifications for why the plan for this trip is reasonable are made.
