Description
Summary:This report looks at the history and current publishing efforts of Orca Book Publishers, the changing educational landscape, the nature of the academic market and describes Orca Book Publishers’ outreach to professors at post-secondary institutions across Canada. Orca Book Publishers is heavily reliant on sales to the school market and constantly thinking about how to best serve the unique needs of Canadian educators. With the educational landscape in Canada shifting to be more open-ended and allowing teachers to make professional judgments about what content is being taught in the classroom, children’s publishing companies are taking note and wondering how to best address this change. Orca Book Publishers has decided that one of the best strategies to navigate this new educational landscape is to reach a new generation of teachers. By marketing to instructors at Faculties of Education in post-secondary institutions across Canada, Orca Book Publishers is indirectly marketing to the students who are future educators.
