This walk in an opportunity to show we care about our threatened planet and to show we want action to heal and protect it. The event will include: -A trek from Kits Beach to Queen Elizabeth Park (see map) -Guest speakers include: Elizabeth May, an internationally respected Canadian environmentalist and Bob Hunter, co-founder of Greenpeace. -Music and entertainment -A kids area/ Why Walk? Help send a resounding message to government, industry and the public that our environment is under siege and that attitudes and behaviour MUST change. Exercise while you're doing it. Demonstrate your organization's commitment to environmental protection./ How Can You Help? Be a sponsor. Individuals and small groups can become a sponsor for and larger groups for 0. Sponsors and sponsoring organizations will be listed on the Walk poster, now being designed by Vancouver artist Carl Chaplin. Sponsoring groups will be given five free posters as well as the opportunity to purchase more at a pre-publication price. To ensure that your name or group is on the poster, contact us no later than July 28, If they desire, sponsoring organizations will be given space to set up a display table offering everyone concrete ways and means to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
