Summary:Old woman mask, Bentwood box and White Owl copper belonging to David Gunnanoot is sitting next to box. Many well-established Northwest Coast artists have marked their beginnings at 'Ksan. 'Ksan was the first to offer Northwest Coast Indian art in formal instruction and it has played an important role in elevating the arts of the Coast to a higher degree of popularity and esteem. Today 'Ksan is a showcase for Gitxsan culture. It is the home of the museum collection begun in 1959, and of the renowned 'Ksan Performing Arts Group.
