Summary:Detail of the Eagle-Halibut Pole of Laay which was carved by Oyee for Chief Laay̓ of the Eagle tribe. It stood 55 ft tall when it was erected ca. 1870. This pole originally stood at Gwinwoḵ before a flood washed it downriver around 1900. The pole then stood at Git'iks before being purchased by the UBC Museum of Anthropology in 1947, where it is currently on display.
