Summary:Salmonberry leaf to be used as a bed for drying huckleberries. Skunk cabbage is the prefered leaf for this process. First, is a layer of uncooked skunk cabbage leaves then a layer of leaves made soft by being dipped into the fire or boiling water These scenes of food processing were initiated in order to fill some of the gaps left by earlier anthropologist and cultural observers among the Gitxsan.
