Summary:In 2011 Romilly Saumarez Smith started to buy bronze metal detecting finds on eBay which inspired her to make them into pieces of jewelry. She invited Verdi Yahooda to photograph the finds before and after their transformation. Nicola Barnacle and Daniel Edwards designed the book in close collaboration with Romilly and Verdi. The book is divided by three sections: a series of captioned photographs of the detecting finds before their transformation; the typeset essay by Bryan Appleyard; and a series of photographs showing the finds transformed into both wearable pieces of jewelry and small-scale sculptures. --From artist statement.; The first series of images are printed on a non coated paper, the second series is on a coated paper stock. the cover has a linen-like quality, with the title de-bossed into it.
