Description
Summary:The present thesis deals with the synthesis and the properties of polycarbonates based on cis-1,4- but-2-endiol and different carbonic acid derivates. Statistical and alternating Copolymers were obtained through polycondensation of different dioles and carbon acid derivates. The synthesis of block copolymers have been successful with the combination of polycondensation and ring opening polymerisation. Therefore cyclic polycarbonates or e-caprolactons were polymerised to build one block. The following step was the epoxidation of the butencarbonate group and a further reaction to a 5-cyclic carbonate or oxazoline. The correlation between the structure of the polycarbonates and their properties is discussed.
