Summary:The paper is aimed to figure out the cost of modernization of the transport infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route. Main unfavorable factors, such as fall in prices for energy resources and the necessity of the implementation of ecologically safe and energy efficient technologies are taken into account. It is estimated that the development of Northern Sea Route financial model should also reflect the of effect of introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation since 2014.
