Description
Summary:This blog piece in a reaction to and analysis of the decision by the pre-clearance company owned by the major UK broadcasters, Clearcast, to refuse clearance to air the Christmas campaign belonging to Iceland: the Rang-Tan short film originally produced by Greenpeace. This article unpacks the complex process to which companies and NGOs must submit before their advertisements can be broadcast in the UK. The analysis concludes that advertising regulations ought to be amended to allow for broader scope for charity advertising and allow non-profits to have a more political objective.
