Summary:Pulmonary arteritis can be caused by primary and secondary conditions, and is a rare cause of pulmonary hypertension. Its diagnosis can be challenging because signs and symptoms are nonspecific, and classifications are based on blood vessel size. This article describes the presentation, work-up, diagnosis and treatment of a 48-year-old First Nations man who was ultimately diagnosed with pulmonary arteritis related to large vessel vasculitis.
