Summary:More than 100 individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses met the initial deadline for commenting on the petition seeking to place the Atlantic salmon on the federal endangered species list, but the state's two largest environmental organizations, the Maine Audubon Society and the Natural Resources Council of Maine, were not among them. The petition was initiated by Restore: The North Woods, and spokesperson Michael Kellett says that mainstream organizations don't seem very interested in the cause.
