Description
Summary:The volume collects the studies and insights carried out within a university workshop promoted by the Adrianea Academy of Archi-tecture and Archaeology non-lucrative association in New York, within the initiatives related to the itinerant Master in Museography, Architecture and Archeology, Strategic Design and Management Innovative of the Archaeological Areas, from 2012 to 2018. The rese-arch topic area was therefore developed in the course of teaching activities and master degree theses conducted in the years 2017-2019 at the Polytechnic of Milan and at the Polytechnic of Turin. The methodological reflections aimed at investigating the delicate issue of the conservation and protection of Smallpox Hospital and the reconfiguration of its environmental context in a dialectical comparison between the American protection regulations and a more typically European approach to restoration and adaptive reuse.
