Summary: | Subartic agriculture refers to a complex set-up that includes among others, an agricultural and breeding system, a certain type of agriculture in the economic and social sease, as well as a particular kind of rural area with a special type of landscape influenced by several essential basic factors : climate, podology, topography. The other characteristics are the rare and scattered population and the smale agricultural structures. Two types of subarctic agriculture can be distinguished : the Irish and Norwegian agriculture which are still out of the CAP and the Swedish and Finnish agriculture belonging to the European Union. |
