Description
Summary:The Greenland criminal Code attempted to graft traditional Inuit concepts of rehabilitation on to the Danish system of laws and procedures. In this paper, the evolution of the Greenland criminal Code is traced and the ways in which Greenlandic traditional concepts have been accommodated or otherwise are elucidated. It is argued that despite an ideology supporting maintenance of a Greenlandic legal perspective, the actual administration of justice in Greenland is increasingly a product of European legal thinking.
