Description
Summary:The Antarctic expeditions 1968/69 and 1985/86 collected airborne images for reconnaissance purposes in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica (Queen Maud Land). We collated these images to obtain a movie of the flight over the terrain in the region Neuschwabenland. Three cameras were used, right, left and downward-looking. For each camera we produced individual movies as well as one movie showing all three cameras at the same time, overlaid on the map. The original images were processed by the Institute für Angewandte Geodäsie (IfAG), Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The data set contains a map, originally 1:500000 SS28-30/SW, on which all images are tentatively geolocated. The original photographies are available from the Archive for German Polar Research (Archiv für deutsche Polarforschung - AdP), hosted by the Alfred Wegener Institute, as well as the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (Bundesamt für Kartographie and Geodäsie (BKG)).
