Syngenetic ice wedges and age of slope yedoma deposits in the foothills of the Kular Ridge

The structure and composition of Late Pleistocene ice wedges in the ice complex outcropping onto gently sloping Kular ridge in the western Yana-Indigirka Lowland are considered. Ice wedges are dated 47-42 and 37-32 kyr BP. Over this time, relatively high temperatures of the growing season were recor...

description The structure and composition of Late Pleistocene ice wedges in the ice complex outcropping onto gently sloping Kular ridge in the western Yana-Indigirka Lowland are considered. Ice wedges are dated 47-42 and 37-32 kyr BP. Over this time, relatively high temperatures of the growing season were recorded twice. Their rise appeared to be suffi cient for the growth of trees, while a relatively warm summer season activated slope processes and accumulation of slope yedoma deposits.
