Description
Summary:In August 2016, soil moisture and temperature probes were installed for autonomous monitoring of the thermal and hydrologic state of the active layer at Trail Valley Creek, NWT, Canada. The site was installed in the vicinity of the Trail Valley Creek (TVC) research station and the long-term weather station hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU). We installed sensors in the upper 20 cm of the soil profile to automatically record soil temperatures and volumetric water content. The record covers the period from the 27th of August 2016, to the 2nd of August 2019 (UTC, local time + 7 hours) in hourly resolution.
