Description
Summary:21.08.2024 tarihine kadar kullanımı yazar tarafından kısıtlanmıştır. Saxifraga L. (Saxifragaceae) is a species-rich genus, which occurs mainly in mountainous and arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Saxifraga genus displays remarkable morphological variation. In this study, morphological and micromorphological studies were carried out on 19 species and 21 taxa belonging to the Saxifraga L. distributed in Turkey, and molecular studies were carried out on some taxonomically problematic species. For morphological studies, plant specimens in different herbariums and many Saxifraga samples collected during the thesis were used. As a result of the thesis, expanded descriptions, type specimens, synonyms, flowering times, habitats, altitude, distributions, phytogeographic regions and herbarium records of each taxon are presented in detail. In addition to the existing distribution areas of the studied taxa, new distribution areas were also added. According to the findings, the species identification key was revised and a more useful and up-to-date key was created. While newly added taxa to the Flora of Turkey are included in the updated key, synonymous species and taxa whose existence requires confirmation are removed. In micromorphological studies, leaf and seed surfaces were studied. Leaf and seed surface studies and content analysis of taxa secreting calcium-containing secretions from their hydathodes were described in detail using scanning electron microscopy. In addition, molecular studies were carried out on the taxonomically problematic species S. cymbalaria and S. sibthorpii, and S. exarata and S. moschata. Finally, a new Saxifraga species was identified from the Yukarı Kavrun Plateau in Rize province and published under the name S. kavrunensis B. Gürcan O. D. Dusen.
