Summary: | Purpose of this survey of the proposed ISFSF area in the SRP area was to provide a complete inventory and evaluation of the archeological resources within the 550-acre parcel. Eight previously unrecorded sites were found during the survey, with only one occurring within the main construction area. Three sites showed evidence of prehistoric occupations while the remaining sites were attributable to the historic period. Only three sites were considered to be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. It is recommended that the construction area for ISFSF be cleared for archeological purposes and that the three eligible sites be mitigated from any adverse effects. (DLC) |
