Description
Summary:The potential contribution of municipal refuse as an energy source depends on the spatial distribution and characteristics of population and the cost of alternative fuels. A methodology for regional economic analysis of urban refuse as an energy source requires a methodology that integrates population, interregional fuel price variations, and other engineering variables into a single model that can be subjected to sensitivity analysis helpful to the policy maker. Such a framework in the context of the Northeast States is developed. The area includes New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.
