Description
Summary:The concentrations and inventories of /sup 239 +240/Pu in sediments from within the boundaries of the low-level radioactive waste-disposal site in the northeast Atlantic are not significantly different from global fallout levels expected in deep-sea sediments from this region of the Atlantic. No man-made gamma-emitting radionuclides were above detection limits in the sediment samples analyzed. Further, there is no indication that past disposal practices have led to an area-wide contamination of the site with waste-related radionuclides. 3 references, 2 figures.
