Mechanisms delaying glacier retreat in the presence of ocean temperature variability at Thwaites Glacier, Antarctica [Slides]

In this work, we conclude ocean temperature variability affects grounding line evolution and glacier mass loss. As a consequence of local ocean density structure and bathymetry, variable runs always retreat less than steady runs.
