Description
Summary:peer reviewed The warming of the climate related to the modifications of the atmosphere will be the most marked in the Arctic. It will cause the formation of numerous thermokarstic features and mass movements of the slopes. As the warming will occur principally during the winter, it is at the southern limit of the permafrost that we have to watch for the first thawing of the ground ice. Some temperature measurements in the permafrost indicate that a warming has probably already begun in the Alaskan Arctic. -from Author
