| Summary: | An overview of the atmospheric conditions over West Greenland in 2017 is presented. In winter 2016/2017, the NAO index was positive (+1.47) for the fourth consecutive winter. The annual mean air temperature at Nuuk weather station in West Greenland was -0.8°C in 2017, which was 0.6°C above the long-term mean (1981-2010). The current report is restricted on the meteorological conditions because the ICES/NAFO oceanographic sections across Fyllas Bank and Cape Desolation had to be abandoned due to severe weather conditions in autumn 2017. |
