Description
Summary:In this session we uploaded photos and videos made by Natalia Aralova during the festival called the Day of the Village which took place in Vladimirovka on 04 August 2018. There are two videos showing the Evenki choir Girkije (amgun_song_girkije & hadjo_girkije), two videos showing dances performed by the junior dancing group Julten (kumalan_dance_outside & den_sela_children_dance) and a video with a dance performed by the dancing group Sivun (kola_beldy_otside_sivun). Moreover, we uploaded several pictures with descriptions. Note that the hadjo-dance performed by Girkije is not the traditional way of dancing this, but is a choreography for the concert based on the song sung for the hadjo. This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. Linguist working on previously collected data.
