Summary: | The wooden steamer "Pacific" was built at Cleveland in 1864 for the Buffalo & Cleveland Trans. Co. Bought by the Union Steamboat Co. 1866-1871, along with the "Arctic" and "Atlantic" and all three traded between Buffalo and Lake Superior ports. "Pacific" was sold about 1883 and cut down to a lumber and coal boat. On. Nov. 15, 1887, she was stranded at Deer Park, Michigan, Lake Superior with lumber destined for Michigan City, Indiana. No lives were lost. |
