On the compensation mechanism of the Walvis Ridge

The Walvis Ridge in the south Atlantic Ocean is correlated with the geoid anomalies obtained from the GEOS 3 satellite. It is shown that the correlation is best explained by Pratt compensation with a depth of compensation of twenty to thirty kilometers.
