Description
Summary:The ability of the fry of cultured salmon (Salmo salar L.) for feeding adaptations after their release into the river and their behaviour and growth dynamics were studied. The growth and feeding indices were compared with the corresponding features of the wild fish in the river. In 1964 the young-of-the-year released into the Salaca River (Latvia), in 1965 the two-year-old salmon and in 1966 the one-year-old individuals were studied. The studies allowed confirm the expediency for the release of young salmon in the smolt stage to exclude the problematic adaptation to the conditions in the river. Published Not Known
