Transport podrazumijeva specijalnu djelatnost koja pomoću prometne infrastrukture i suprastrukture omogućuje proizvodnju prometne usluge prevozeći robu, ljude i energiju s jednog mjesta na drugo. Potražnja za transportnim uslugama na određenom području zavisi od razvijenosti svih oblika transporta, njihove integriranosti u jedinstvenu cjelinu, razini cijena po modovima transporta, kvaliteti usluge koje se izvršavaju potencijalnim klijentima itd. Jedno od najvažnijih pitanja za korisnika transportnih usluga je sami izbor optimalnog oblika transporta. Svaka vrsta transporta ima određene karakteristike koje treba točno definirati i u tom smislu treba dati ocjenu svakog tipa transportnog sredstva. Takva stručna ocjena prijevoznih sredstava važna je i za analizu postojećeg stanja i za planiranje budućeg razvoja. Transportation includes special activity by transport infrastructure and superstructure that enables production of transport services by transporting goods, people and energy from one place to another. Demand for transport services in a given area depends on the development of all forms of transport, their integration into a unified whole, the level of prices by modes of transport, quality of service that is executed for potential clients etc. One of the most important issues for users of transport services is the very selection of the optimal form of transport. Each type of transport has certain characteristics that must be precisely defined and in this regard should be given to the assessment of each type of means of transport. Such expert evaluation of transportation is also important to analyze the current situation and to plan for future development.
