Summary: | An empirical socio-psychological research project in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has revealed an interrelation between a degree of adaptedness of the person and the quality of mutual relations with their parents. The substantiated conclusion is this: the more positive the value judgment of intergenerational relations - the higher the adaptive potential of the person is. The most difficult and painful factors standing in the way of a mutual relationship and formation of adaptation strategies of the person are personal reasons for conflicts, when parents are dissatisfied with the child. It is also shown that adaptation abilities of the person decrease with the move to either of the extreme positions: hedonism or asceticism.
