Summary:"Frauenstimmen: Women's Voices from the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp" was performed May 1, 2011 at the Fenway Center in Boston, Massaschusetts, under sponsorship of Northeastern University's Department of Jewish Studies. The performance portrays the lives of the women who were interred at the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp during the Holocaust. Songs in the performance were composed or sung at Ravensbrück, and are performed interspersed with songs from the Weimar Cabaret - music that was wildly popular in Germany both prior to and during the Holocaust. Performers and musicians include: Lynn Torgove, Cantor (Director and Producer), Mary MacDonald, (Dramaturg and Associate Producer), Becky Wexler Khitrik, Cantor, (Music Director), Matti Kovler (Conductor and Arranger), Johnny Kuntz, (Script), Diane Sokal, (Costumes), Majie Zeller, (Production Design). Cast members include: Cantor Lynn Torgove as Margarete Buber-Neumann, Sami Stevens as Eva Busch, Heather Klein as Rosi Forsberg, Rabbi Jessica Kate Meyers as Milena Jesenska, Cantor Kate Judd as Katerzyna Mateja, Rabbi Suzie Schwartz Jacobson as Germaine Tillion, and Cantor Elise Barber, as Lucy Wertheimer. Musicians include: Becky Wexler on clarinet, Yaeko Miranda Elmaleh on violin, Michael McLaughlin on accordion, Greg Loughman on bass, Grant Smith on percussion and Matti Kovler on piano.
