Bale Engages In Research Work Professor At Concordia Studies Higher Education In Lutheran Church Prof. C. E. Bale, head of the English department, spent approximately five weeks during the months of June and July at the University of Chicago on a study of "Higher Education in the Lutheran Church." He was a member of a committee made up of representatives of Lutheran colleges of the various synods belong-ing to the American Lutheran confer-ence. Hiis committee had access to the facilities of the libraries of the uni-versity and also had opportunity to consult with members of the university staff. The committee presented a prelimin-ary report of its findings in July which has since been incorporated into a final eport now being printed, which will circulate among the faculties of Luth-ran colleges during the coming year. The committee is suggesting that these reports be taken as the basis for facul-ty discussions, and thus be made as fruitful as possible for the solution of problems in our higher education and for the advancement of our college.
