Members of the panel are Prof. C. M. Running, Mrs. Elmer Laursen, Mary Helen Brenden, Joel Lunde, and Paul Arnold. Devotion will be led by Carol Void. A vocal solo will be pre-sented by Lois Johnshoy, and John Helgeson will play a cornet solo. Darlene Gronseth will be the pia-nist. Interest groups will follow the regular meeting. MISSION CRUSADERS "The Lord Convicts" is the topic chosen by Darrel Schultz, who will speak at Mission Crusaders Sunday morning at 8:45 in the college chapel. A vocal solo will be presented by Ray Haugen, and Lawrence Schilla will play a clari-net solo. Devotion will be led by John GOmore. LDR The National President of the Lutheran Daughters of the Refor-mation, Lily Gyldenvand, was the guest speaker at the LDR work-ers* conference held Tuesday af-ternoon at Fjelstad hall. The project was held in order to foster interest and participation in local and home town LDR groups. Miss Gyldenvand also spoke at the regular LDR meeting on Wed-nesday evening. The pianist at this meeting was Mildred Hylden and a vocal solo was given by Grace Barbie. Karen Emberg led in devotion. COBBER BROTHERHOOD James Brooks was the speaket at the Cobber Brotherhood last Wednesday evening. Don Norlin presented a vocal solo and John Helgeson played a cornet solo. Brotherhood meets at 6:30 dur-ing Lent. PRAYER FELLOWSHIP Prayer Fellowship will be led by Jean Jahnsen at their meeting tomorrow evening at 6:30 in the chapel of the Men's dormitory. Five Hostesses Enter Home Management House Five hostesses moved into the home management house this week. They are Arda Ensrud, Janet Frojen, Ruth Lykken, Ann Hanson, and Joyce Warner. These girls replace Lorraine Hil-dahl, Doris M. Hendrickson, Mar-lys Aamot, Dorothy Iverson, Ada Groth, and Phyllis Umland, who have lived in the house for the past six weeks. CONGRATULATIONS! Janice Appelqulst • Room 233 Fjelstad Hall Students To Give Recital In Conservatory Tonight The Phi Iota chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, national music sorority, will meet Monday evening in the Chapter room at the music con-servatory. A -business meeting will be held at 7 p.m. for all active members. A program on Rachmaninoff will be held at 8 pjn. Mrs. Oscar H. Kjorlie will present a book report on Rachmaninoff. Miss Elizabeth Nilson will play "Polichinelle" by Rachmaninoff. Kathryn B a a r s t a d will play "Moment Musicale No. 5" and "Moment Musicale No. 6" by Schu-bert. Home Economics Girls Give Dinner For Hobos As a climax to six weeks of training, the girls in the home management house opened wide the doors to eight hobos last Tues-day evening. Arriving in cords, jeans, and plaid shirts were the following: Donald Frokjer, Rodney Hildahl, Herman Radig, Bob Deede, Carl Zander, Mel Young-berg, Hans Apesland, and Myles Efteland. The hostesses in patched cotton frocks were Miss Kruger, Miss Salzsiedler, Phyllis Umland, Mar-lys Aamot, Doris M. Hendriokson, Lorraine Hildahl, Dorothy Iverson, and Ada Groth. Dinner and the evening's enter-tainment were carried out in tra-ditional hobo style. IRC To Meet Tuesday Glenn Sjolander, George Farr, Carl Zander, and James Hofren-ning will lead a discussion on the position of the United States in regard to the Chinese government at a meeting of the IRC next Tues-day evening at 6:45. Mary Ellen Johnson Social Notes • Mrs. Myron Swanson, form-erly Enid Ruth Reinertsen, gave birth to a son, John Christian, at the Swedish hospital in Minneapo-lis on March 11. Mrs. Swanson was Dean of Women at Concordia from 1946 to 1948. Mr. Swanson was an in-structor of religion last year. He is now at Luther seminary in St. Paul. • The Fargo-Moorhead Cobber club will meet Monday night at 6:30 in the college cafeteria. Following the supper meeting the group will be spectators at a volleyball game between the fac-ulty team and intramural champi-onship in the college gym. names begin with A-L have been invited to attend at 2:30 p.m. Girls whose names begin with M-Z will attend at 3:30 p.m. Miss Frida Nilsen, advisor of the society, will present a short talk at the meeting. The tea is.the first in a series to be presented by the six women's societies to acquaint freshmen girls and transfer students with the societies. At 10 ajn. on Saturday the Delta Rho society will hold an open house in the chapel for the men who do not belong to a socie-ty. Harold Nordby is in charge of the general arrangements. Richard Bakke Improving In Neurological Hospital Word has been received that Richard Bakke is recovering suc-cessfully from an operation which he underwent March 5. Bakke is hospitalized at the Montreal Neurological Institute, Montreal, Canada. In a letter written to Professor Burgess, Bakke's father stated that Richard used post-hypnotic suggestion to prevent headaches following the operation. Professor Burgess had previous-ly taught Richard the technique used in self-hypnosis.
