Daniel Schock family -from daughter Emilie Hildebrandt Weilheim-Teck den 11, 10. 47 Gott zum Gruß und den Lieben Heiland zum Beistand u Helfer in der Not, amen. Nun ein recht herzlichen Gruß an euch mein lieber Onkel Johannes u Tante Christiane u Kinder von uns Emil u Emilie u Kinder -daß wir immer noch gesund sind was wir von euch auch hoffen u es euch wünschen -Lieber Onkel u Tante leider muß ich immer wieder schreiben daß die Mutter noch nicht da ist -sie ist shon ganz ungeduldig aber ich hoffe daß sie jetzt bald hier ist denn ich ware heute bei unsrem Flüchtlings Kommissar -der hat mir Zuzug versprochen -0 wenn wir doch zu euch rein kommen könntet -es heißt ja immer wir kommen nach Amerika aber wann weißt keiner -ein Weg muß ja gesucht werden denn die Kartoffel Ernte ist sehr schlecht -Vieh muß alles abgeschlachtet werden wegen Futter Mangel so daß wir vor einem harten u schweren Winter stehen aber was können wir Menschen ändern? -nichts, -es steht alles in Gottes Hand -sein Wille geschehe im Himmel u auf Erden. Und von meinem lieben Vater u Schwester u Bruder weiß ich immer noch nichts -O Gott ob die noch leben? Auch ein Gruß an meinen Onkel u Tante Braun u Kinder -Nun lieber Onkel Johannes u Tante Christiana u Kinder seid alle nochmal recht herzlich gegrüßt von uns allen -wir wollen hoffen daß im nächsten Brief die Mutter schon hier ist dann soll sie euch gleich schreiben. Was ist mit Onkel Gottfried u Onkel Emanuel daß die nicht schreiben? Nochmals viele grüße on euch alle -alle ins gesammt -ich bitte auch wieder von euch mal was hören -eure Briefe sind erquickend und ein Trost. Dear Uncle and Aunt I have to write again that mother is still not here and she is very impatient, but I hope soon now as I went to the Refugee Commissioner today and he promised me an emigrant permit. If we could only come in to you -we always hear that we are to go to Amerika, but no one knows when! A way has to be found as the potato crop is very bad. The cattle have to be butchered off because of the fodder scarcity and we are facing a very hard winter. But we can't change things, -it is all in the hand of God, and may His will be done in heaven and on earth. I still have not heard anything about my father, sister and brother -or if they are alive. Greetings to mu Uncle and Runt Braun and children and again to you my dear Uncle Johannes and Aunt Christiana. I hope that in my next letter I can write that mother is here and she should write you at once. What gives with Uncle Gottfried and Uncle Emanuel that they don' t write?
