Summary:STREET CONCERT BY MILTON BAND IN 1903 1915 — Three Milton Horses Win at County Fair Mrs. Charles S. Gillespie, a resident of Mi.ton and vicinity for nearly 33 years, died at her home in Milton. She was born in June 1848 in Kilkul county, Down, Ireland, and was married in 1871 to Charles Stewart Gil espie of Armaugh county, Down, Ireland. They moved to Bracebridge, Ont., two years later and to Milton in 1882. Her husband died 12 years ago. She was the mother of Mrs. H. E. Sunderland and Mrs. W. A. Hunter, who are living in Milton in 19G2. Miss Ethel Bjornason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bjornason, and Oliver Einarson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olafur Einarson, all of Milton, were married at the home of the bride. The Milton Gun club was organized with H. Asgr.'.mson as president, E. L. Peterson as secretary-treasurer and W. H. Buchanan as field captain. Rolf Prom and Joe Axvig purchased (he interest of J. C. Ryan in the Milton motion picture theatre. W. G. Bell took over the Milton barber shop and contemplated several improvements in equipment. Gustav Brckke became the owner of the D. H. Bucher interest in (lie State Bank of Milton. Miss Dora Butterwick and Mark Waind wore married and are honeymooning in Grand Forks. Duncan Horrocks of Milton was married (o Miss Bella Jones of Carmen. Manitoba. At the county fair horse races H. G. Halverson's horse, "Chester," won second money. A. O. Olson's "Milton Maid" won third and second. Charles Olson's "Oaken-heart, Jr." won second and third. Mrs. E. Asgrimson died at the home of her son, H. Asgrimson, in Milton. She was born in Iceland 82 years ago and came to America with her husband and son Haldor about 32 years ago. The fine new residence of Dr. A. F. Elliot, near the corner of Oakland and Plain avenues, was near.y completed, with water and sewer connections and ultimately to be equipped with electric lights. Charles Erb was proprietor of the Milton Meat Market. Miss Elizabeth McLeod, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Angus McLeod, and William Bruce, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bruce, were married at the home of the bride. Miss Mabel Meyer, daughter of Mrs. E. Meyer of Milton, and Martin Meling of Hampden were married and made their home on a farm near- Hampden. Mark Waind was operating Waind's Cash Grocery. Miss Irene Delling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Delling, and Herbert R. McLaurin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James McLaurin, all of Milton, were married December 27 at the home of the bride's parents. They were at home at "The Dell" after February 1. 1916 — Waite Becomes Great Northern Agent The C. W. Plain furniture store was partly destroyed by fire.
