There were 11 children in the family. Celestine was born August 18, 1915, and married Clement Zastoupil on October 25, 1938. WilHam was born on January 16, 1917, and married Katherine Kathrein of New England on April 12, 1948. Eugenia, born May 4, 1918, married Thomas Stagl on August 3, 1936. Margaret was born December 2, 1919, and married Aloys Schulz on October 24, 1939. Florian was born on April 16, 1921, and died in service on November 24, 1943. Teresa was born April 7, 1923. PauHne was born on November 9, 1924. Gregory was born October 19, 1926, and married Virginia Essert on June 1, 1950; he died August 25, 1982. Ignatius was born on February 5, 1928, and married Eudora Thielman on May 17, 1954. John was born February 26, 1932, and married Shirley Samson on October 25, 1954. Ottilia was born March 3, 1937. Florian was drafted for miHtary service in 1941. He was a radio operator on a supply plane taking supplies from India to Burma. He was lost in a plane crash and never found. PauUne joined the Maryknoll convent as a missionary sister. She was in China during the second World War and was imprisoned by the Communists for seven months. Sr. Pauline is now a missionary in Taiwan. OtiUia joined the CarmeUte Order of Sisters, stationed in Wahpeton. When the former St. Mary's Church was demolished in the late 1950s, the large church beU was hauled to the newly estabhshed convent in Wahpeton, to ring from their bell tower. Her brothers provided the manual labor and transportation to bring a touch of home to a place of prayer. Mrs. OttiHa Sticka died on March 5, 1937, and Ralph died on July 23, 1953. RONALD STICKA by Lori Klein Sticka Ronald Francis Sticka was born on November 6, 1968, at Dickinson. He is the son of John A. and Margaret (Frank) Sticka. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and Trinity High School in Dickinson and then Dickinson State College, where he majored in biology and earth science. From 1969 to 1971, he served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis, WA, Ft. Benning, GA, and San Antonio, TX. On May 12,1979, Ron married Lori Marie Klein at Pierce Congregational Church, north of Scranton. Lori was born on April 6, 1959, to John and Luella (Johnson) Klein. She attended grades one and two at Woodbury School and grades three to twelve at New England Public School. Lori was co-valedictorian of the class of 1977. She graduated in 1979 from Dickinson State College, summa cum laude, with an associate degree. She is secretary for New York Life Insurance of Dickinson. Ron has Sticka Photography Studio and is a photographer. They have two daughters: Christina Michelle, born March 4, 1980, and Jessica Lu, born April 18, 1981. They are affiUated with the CathoUc and Congregational churches. He was raised on the family farm, graduating from high school at Saint Mary's in New England. He was a member of the C.C.C.'s for two years.
