HANSEN By Mrs. Charles (Myrtle) Hansen When tlie first history of Divide county was compiled in 1964, Charles and 1 were still on the SW yi of Section 5 in Twin Butte township. It is the farm formerly owned by Charles' father, Peter J. Hansen. By that time, Charles had acquired a well-boring machine. He "brought in weJls for quite a number ol people m an area as Jar west as Plentywood, Mont, and east to Columbus. He also worked in the northern part of Williams county, lie said it was really thrilling to get a good well for a farmer. We also began raising sheep about fifteen years ago. We found that we liked it and wished we had gotten into it earlier. In 1969 our son, Charles David, bought the Henry Lien farm two miles west of Noonan and moved there. They have a family of five, two daughters and three sons. Besides raising grain and cattle, Chuck has worked witli oil wells for thirteen years. They are one of tlie few- farmers who milk cows and sell cream. Yvonne, (Mrs. Lyle Strand), Charles' daughter by a former marriage, lives in Havre, Moflt. They operate a motel.
