Summary:Christian and Anna Anderson Christian Anderson was born in 1887 and passed away in 1959. He was born in Virginia, WI, and came to Melvin township at the age of six months. He married Anna Gustafson in 1910. She was born in Hadeland, Norway in 1887. She came alone to America when 1 6 years old. She passed away in 1962. Christ and Anna resided in Kloten ND. after their marriage where he was rural mail carrier for a year. Then they moved to Melvin township and later purchased a farm north of Michigan, ND. where they lived until 1945 when they moved into Michigan. They had a family of eight Arnold O., Brinsmade, ND., Floyd A., Petersburg, ND., Leland G., Alvin C, Morris E., Almeda M. (Mrs. Ole Narum), Charles L., Michigan, ND., and Margaret G. (Mrs. Leland Skjervem), Brocket, ND., and 29 grandchildren. Five of their sons were in the service at the same time during World War II. Arnold was an ambulance driver in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. Morris was stationed in Ireland, North Africa and Italy. Alvin was a medical technician with the 43rd General Hospital in Africa, Italy and France. When Morris was in Africa he met his brother Alvin and had a few minutes surprise visit. Charles was in infantry training at Camp Roberts, CA, and transferred to the air force in Iceland. Leland was in infantry training and transferred to California where he received his medical discharge. Leland was born in 1914 and died in 1966. Gayle, Mrs. L. David Williams, resides at Enumclaw, WA. She is an accountant with a C.P.A. firm and her husband is on the police force at Enumclaw. Curtis married Lu Ann Rysavy daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laddie Rysavy of Whitman, ND. They and their two children Chad and Kari live at Oslo, MN. Curtis is employed at Border States Electric in Grand Forks, and Lu Ann is the manager of the Legion Club at Oslo. Linda, Mrs. Roger Skiftun, and three children Lori, Jon and Julie live at Manfred, ND, where they farm and Roger is also an auctioneer. Betty, Mrs. Dennis Fordyce and two children Kaci and Brett live at West Fargo, ND. Betty works for Park West Gardens and Dennis is employed at Crystal Sugar, Moorhead, MN. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson bought the Iver Sonsteng farm northeast of Michigan where they farmed for 25 years before selling the farm in 1972. They moved to Fessenden, ND where he worked as a carpenter. In 1976 they returned to Michigan, ND. Alvin was born in 1916 and passed away in 1977. Nov. 12, 1971 Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Anderson Alvin, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christ Anderson, Michigan, ND and his wife Bertha, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kallestad, Plaza, ND were married in 1946. John Kallestad was also a resident of the Michigan area before homesteading at Plaza in the early 1900's. Alvin spent over three years in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic in the African and European areas and Bertha taught school near Hamar and Ryder, ND before their marriage. They were the parents of six children. Sandra, Mrs. James Zejelik, who with their two sons, Jeremy and Ryan, lives at Velva, ND. Sandra is a cook at a Retirement Center and her husband is employed with an oil firm. Judy, Mrs. Larry Lizakowski, has three children Elizabeth, Angela and Nathan lives at Guernsey, WY. Judy works as an executive accountant for Basin Electric at Wheatland, WY, and her husband is the music teacher at Guernsey. Mr. and Mrs. Morris E. Anderson Morris E. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Anderson, and Mary Ann Reineke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Reineke Sr. were married in 1945. They farmed north of Michigan, ND. Morris bought the farm from his dad Christ in 1957. They farmed until 1979 when they moved into Michigan. They have six sons and one daughter. Donald and Sharon and family West Fargo, ND. Donald is employed at the Air Guard in Fargo, ND. Roger and Jane and family of Moorhead, MN., Roger works for Honeywell, Inc., Gary and Sue, of Rapid City, SD. Gary is a carpenter. Steve and Yvonne and family of Sioux Falls, SD. Steve works for Diebold Company, Jane and Wayne Cumber, West Fargo. Jane is secretary in the admissions department of the North Dakota State University of Fargo.
