Fredrich lived with them until his death December 17, 1971. Their children are: Magdalena Wolf, born August 30,1905, deceased; John, born May 12, 1907, deceased; Fred, born August 28, 1908; Leo, born October 4, 1909, deceased; Lydia Delzer, born May 17, 1912, deceased; Arthur, deceased, born March 21, 1914; Helen Weikum, born August 8,1917; Olivia Weikum, born June 14,1919; Ruben, born August 7, 1922; and August, born April 7, 1929, deceased. John K. Schock John K. Schock John K. Schock was born on Februay 10,1915 in Mercer County, North Dakota, son of Karl J. and Barbara (Nathan) Schock. In 1918, his family moved to a farm north of Elgin. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in Januay of 1937 and was stationed in Utah. He was inducted into the Army in 1942, serving during World War 11 in Greenland, France and Germany. After the war, he served as an interpreter in Germany during the occupation. He was discharged on December 21, 1945 and returned to his parent's farm. In 1953, he moved into Elgin and continued farming. John lost his home during the 1978 tornado in Elgin. He was an active member and held offices in the George W. Snook American Legion Post of Elgin, North Dakota. He was a member of the Hope Conservative Congregational Church of Elgin. John was active in the local saddle club and other community activities. John died in November of 1982. John and Edna Schock w I \ John, Edna, Doris and Marlene Schock John Schock, son of Fred and Katherina (Heupel) Schock, was born May 12, 1907 in Grant County. Edna Vetter, daughter of Otto and Lydia (Leischner) Vetter, was born January 23, 1917 in Grant County. John and Edna were married on November 28, 1934 at Old Leipzig Church. They lived near Mcintosh, South Dakota where they farmed. In 1938 John and Edna moved to a farm northwest of Elgin. On Februay 11,1945 Edna passed away at the age of 28 years after a long illness leaving her husband and two young children. With the help of relatives John managed to care for his young daughters. The Schock's daughters are: Marlene (Mrs. Eldon Wolf). Eldon and Marlene live on the family farm north of Elgin; Doris (Mrs. Norman Iszler). Norman and Doris live north of New Leipzig where they are farming. John's son-in-law and daughter, Eldon and Marlene farmed with him until he passed away at the age of seventy- one on April 14,1979. John and Edna are both buried at the Stone Church Cemetey, north of Elgin. Karl J. and Barbara Schock Karl, son of John and Elizabeth (Reiser) Schock, was born November 5, 1887 in Maligonawa, South Russia. He married Barbara Nathan, daughter of Daniel and Katherine (Bitter- man) Nathan, on May 15, 1908 in the Lutheran Church in Freidorf, South Russia.
