Summary:Paul and Norine have eleven grandchildren. Paul was a 4-H club leader and managed a baseball team for several years. He is currently secretary of Wheatland Cemetery Association, a post he has held over twenty years. He was a rural mail carrier for 36 years. They are members of United Methodist Church and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. LOUIS D. SHARP The Louis D. Sharp family came from Illinois in December, 1948. Theirs was a family farm raising hogs, milking a herd of Guernsey cows, with a general farming operation. Shelter belts were set out and strip croping practiced. In 1968, L. D., bought the Joe Morris garage, doing welding and mechanical work until his death in 1971. Their three children graduated from Wheatland high school. DARRELL, graduated from Valley City State College. He went into the Peace Corp in Iran, while there married Fereshteh Khosrovi. They came back to North Dakota and he taught school in Hoople for a while. Now they live in Brainerd, Minnesota and he teaches in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. They have two children, Sohailah and James. DALLAS, attended Valley City State College, before entering the U. S. Air Force in 1962. He served in Laborador, Iceland and seven years in Germany, besides Radar bases in the United States. He has two daughters, Simi and Susie. As radar bases are being phased out, he is retraining in Air Traffic Control at Biloxi, Mississippi. CHERYL, received her nurses training at North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton. She married Clifford Hartl. They live in West Fargo with their two children, Anita and Keith. Cheryl is manager of Central Supply at St. John's Hospital in Fargo. After L.D.'s death, Mrs. Ruth Sharp joined the Peace Corps and was sent to Zaire, Africa for two years, working with the people there in agriculture and womens work. She now lives in Fargo doing nursing care and food preparation in nursing homes. MARGARET SCHERWEIT AND THE LATE LORENZ SCHERWEIT Lorenz Scherweit was born in Poole, Nebraska, moved to North Dakota at the age of 4. In 1938, he and Margaret Christie were married in Casselton. Margaret was born and raised there. They farmed in the Mapleton and Wheatland area for twenty years, before moving into Wheatland, where Lorenz worked for the Wheatland Farmers Union Grain Company. Born to them were five children: TRUDIE, Mrs. Larry Simpson, resides in Golden, Colorado. Larry is employed by Jefferson County and Trudie is an executive buyer for Jefferson County Schools. They have a 17 year old daughter, Dawn Marie. BONNIE, Mrs. Bill Kirchner, lives in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Bill owns and operates his own body shop and Bonnie is a nurse at the V. A. Hospital.
