Some of the first members were Marlys Chalmers, Marcia Dunham, Gayle Hovde, Marcia Lee, Linda Lian, Linda Lukins, Janice Miller, Kay Otterson, Ramona Rabine, Connie Sandbeck, Diane Sandbeck, Eloise Torgerson, Alice Zetik. The Girl Scouts also organized at that time. The first leaders were Mrs. Carl Hovey, Mrs. Elmer Hovde, and Mrs. Lowella Hovde. The members included Charlene Chalmers, Judy Franklin, Esther Hillesland, Delores and Elayne Johnson, Lola Lee, Judith Leon, Darlene Lian, Marilyn Lind, Helen Lukins, Betty Solberg, Kay Ophaug, Merle Vangsness, Shirley Hillesland, Gloria and Beverly Smaaladen, Beverly Vig, JoAnne Dunham, Janet Skurdahl, Elaine Peterson, Donna Smaaladen, Charlotte Palmer, Juelle Johnson, Shirley Nelson. Clippings from past issues of the Panorama tell us Girls Scouts organized much earlier. "The Girl Scouts class of the M. E. church gathered at the Oscar Anderson home yesterday afternoon and gave their little friend, Miss Agnes a very pretty surprise. Miss Agnes has been in very bad health for some time and she was very pleased that her little friends remember her by coming in a congregation to spend a pleasant afternoon," Aneta Panorama, Feb 15, 1915. From the Panorama dated August 3, 1922 "Mrs. Louis Johnson and daughter arrived home from Red Willow last Monday where they had spent a week with the Camp- fire girls. " The Cub Scouts of Aneta were organized in 1961. Bernard Kueber was the Cub Master. Others on the committee were Jack Devlin and Maynard Smaaland. Den Mothers were Mrs. Bernard Kueber, Mrs. Maynard Smaaland and Mrs. Alden Hedstrom. Some of the Cub Scouts at the time the troop organized were Scott and Mike Devlin, Greg and Mike Kueber, James Smaaland, Landis Tande, Doug Hedstrom, David and James Odegaard. 1 ^ |r-l The Boy Scouts were active in the mid 30 's with Merton Utgaard and Dr. Grinnell as leaders. The Aneta Panorama dated Nov. 14, 1935 lists the following members; Tiger Patrol-Marvin Dock, Morris Rock, Norman Lian, Gaylord Anderson, Bud Boyle, Donald Tliingstad, Vernon Holen. Wolf Patrol-Richard Norgaard, Russell Lee, Art Larson, Orris Wangen, Quinten Haraldson, Gordon Lee. Cub Patrol-Milo Engelstad, Marian Lee, Chester Broe, Lester Hedstrom, Jimmy Schley. Other scout leaders have been Carl Hovey and Don Sather.
