Summary:OSCAR STORDALEN Oscar Stordalen was born June 8, 1890 in Minnesota. He owned land In Big Stone Township. He was a weU driUer using bucket type drilUng machine operated by horse power. Many times he was gassed going down into the holes to remove rocks. He served in the armed forces in World War I returning In 1919. In the early twenties he worked as a barber in ZahL He farmed a couple of years on the Andrew Stordalen farm south of Alamo. Later he moved to Newberry, California starting up a large chicken farm. He bought baby chicks selling them later for fryers. He now lives in San Bernadino, CaUfornia spreading gospel messages to each and everyone. Many times he brings the gospel to jailers. Mr. Stordalen has a son and daughter. BERNT OLSON miles west of Alamo. Also two stepsons ErUng Johnson who married Cora Njos of Corinth, North Dakota; their children are Arlene, Mrs. Harold Tvedt, Curtis married to Orrine Nelson, PhyUls, Mrs. Duane Duane Gronfur all Uving in Williston. Erling and Cora have both passed away.Erling on August 2, 1954 and Cora April 4, 1965. Harry Johnson married June Reinen of Blanchard, North Dakota and Uve in Williston, North Dakota. WILLIAM C. POLIS Mr. & Mrs. Bernt Olson & fa Bernt Olson was born In Hattfjelldal, Norway on April 16, 1878. He was confirmed and received his education there. In April of 1904 he sailed for America coming to St. Hilaire, Minnesota, near Thief River Falls. He was employed as a logger. Later he came to McGregor, North Dakota working there for some time. In 1912 he homesteaded in Big Stone Township3 miles east of Alamo. On November 12, 1917 he married EUen Nelson Johnson. They Uved there untlltheir passing, Ellen passed away November 17, 1948 and Bernt on June 6, 1960. They had one daughter Lucy, married to Henry Halvorson. They are the parents of one son Merle, and Uve on a farm 2 1/2 Mr. & Mrs. William C. Polis WlUlam C. PoUs came to Wildrose from McViUe, North Dakota in the winter of 1915 to look over the country and find a piece of land for a farm. He was impressed by the huge piles of grain and snow drifts so he bought two quarters of land located six miles south of Corinth from Olaf Sloulin. He brought his wife and eleven children here the following spring. He farmed here for four years but wheat rust ruined his crops and he returned with his family to McViUe in 1919. Two of his daughters Ida, (Johnson) and Ella (Thompson) stayed at Corinth. Mr. PoUs remained at McViUe until his death in 1944. PETE WISDAHL Pete Wisdahl left Vaaga, Gudbransdalen, Norway In the year 1905 coming first to Kloten, North Dakota. After two years he came to Garnet Township to homestead. He then returned to Kloten and owned and operated a blacksmith shop for several years. He was a smithy by trade. In 1912 he moved to Wildrose after a fire had destroyed his blacksmith shop which he had for several years. He continued his blacksmlth- 112 Scanned with a Zeutschel Zeta book scanner at 300 dpi.
