Summary:Sylvester attended schools in Spring Grove, Minn, and Norway Lake Township. Anna was born on February 16, 1902, in Norway Lake Township, the daughter of Elsie and Hans Gunderson. Anna attended school in Norway Lake Township. Anna and Sylvester were married on October 25, 1921 and celebrated their Golden Wedding in October of 1971. They are parents of three children: Curtis of Maddock, Ardell of Wendell, Minn, and Elaine of Colorado Springs, Colo. There are eleven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Anna and Sylvester are members of the Viking Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway and Maddock 55 club. + + + Fred Bingham Family My name is Josephine S. Muri Bingham, born January 26, 1902. I married Fred L. Bingham on October 8, 1920. He was born on November 8, 1890 and died November 12, 1964. Our children are as follows: Eustean was born August 17, 1921 and married Rudolph Tollefson, Maddock. George R. was born September 12, 1923 and married Delores Eback. They live in Brinsmade. Rose Mary was born January 10, 1923 and married Phillip Leppard. They live in Devils Lake. Francis Lewis married Helen Hoffart and now lives at Sunnyside, Wash. Marie Christine was born May 9, 1931 and married Leo Eback, and now lives at Devils Lake. Delbert P. was born Jan. 7, 1934 and married Anna Jensen. They live at Brinsmade and their children attend Maddock school. Fred. J. was born July 17,1936 and married Ann Kraft. They live In Devils Lake. Catherine M. was born Aug. 16, 1939 and married Emil Kraft. They live at Lake wood, rural route. Patricia Ann was born November 3, 1941 and married Raymond Ripplinger and lives in Devils Lake. Susan M. was born April 15, 1944 and lives at home. We all attended grade school in Harlow, 2 country schools in Butte Valley and McClellan. Fred, Catherine, and Patricia all went to high school at Maddock. We have lived all our lives in and around Harlow and my husband and I were farmers as is Delbert who farms at home. The farmer that lived here before us was Baldy Lewis. We belong to St. William's Catholic Church in Maddock. + + + Elroy B. Bjerke Family Elroy B. Bjerke was born in Steele Co., Beaver Creek Twp., Hatton, March 6, 1928. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Oliver O. Bjerke. Elroy attended grade school in Newburg Twp. and Hatton Public School. Ada M. Goughnour was born in Traill Co., Viking Twp., Portland, Dec. 24, 1927. Her parents are Mrs. Jennie Goughnour and the late William M. Goughnour. Ada attended grade school in Viking Twp., Hatton High School and Mayville State College. Elroy and Ada were married at Crookston, Minn., Polk Co. They resided in Hatton until moving to Borup, Minn, in Feb., 1958. Elroy was manager of GTA Elevator there. They moved to Maddock in Feb., 1964 and has managed Maddock Farmers Grain Elevator here since. They are members of North Viking Lutheran Church. Children are: Robert Elroy married to the former Jennifer Vetter of Braddock and lives at Devils Lake; Arlyn Eudean, Linton; Sharon Renee (Mrs. Richard Davidson), Grand Forks; Jennifer Ann, a student at UND, Grand Forks and Rodney Mark, a junior at Maddock High School. + + + Ole K. Bondeli Family Ole K. Bondeli was born of parents Knud Olsen Bondeli and Kari Tollefsdottar, in 1858, at Nord, Aurdal, Valders, Norway. He immigrated to this country in 1880. He secured employment at Fort Abercrombie and at Fort Totten as a government clerk. Ole filed on land in South Viking in the late 1880's. He married Hannah Halvarson in 1895. She was the daughter of Thore Halvarson, who settled in South Viking in 1887. Thore was a widower. He came here in a covered wagon with his eight children from Walcott. Bondeli's raised a family of eight, most of whom still reside in North Dakota. They were charter members of North Viking Lutheran Church. Mrs. Bondeli was in the first confirmation class. She passed away during the flu epidemic of 1918. Ole continued to live on the farm until he went to his last reward in 1949. + + + Theodore Bondeli Theodore Bondeli was the son of Ole K. and Hannah (Halvarson) Bondeli. He was born on his parents' homestead in South Viking in 1899. Except for a period in the U.S. Army, he made his home on his parents' homestead. At the time of his death in 1973, the original homestead was a part of the land he farmed. Theodore was baptized and confirmed at the North Viking Church. He was a lifetime member there. He was always a firm believer in cooperatives.
