Description
Summary:Based on radiocarbon dates, marine seismic data, mapping of surficial deposits, observations of marine limits and shoreline correlations, we have documented a considerable glacier readvance during the Tromsø-Lyngen event in the early Younger Dryas Chron, reaching farther west and northwest in the Hinnøya-Ofjotfjorden area than previously suggested. The continental ice sheet advanced across Tjeldsundet and occupied parts of eastern Hinnøya where it coalesced with local glaciers.\r(Forkortet) 52671
