Description
Summary:An interstadial deposit of mud and peat corresponding to the Danish and Dutch so called Brörup-interstadial has been investigated. A first series characterised by Betula nana and non arboreous vegetation as well as a second series of closed forests have been described. Birch, later on pine and spruce were the constituents of the forests. The conception of the vegetation derived from pollenanalytical investigation shows a considerable influence of the local vegetation on the fen with Betula nana and Pinus montana var. uncinata, to which particular attention has been paid.
