They believe in shamanism,which holds the idea that all natural objects and the universe itself havesouls—that is, animism. Now they live in China’s Inner Mongolia AutonomousRegion and Heilongjiang Province. In a long historical process, the Ewenkiand Orochon people have created and developed a hunting culture with richconnotation.This paper describes the culture from four different aspectshuntingorganization; hunting tools; hunting method and a comparison withthe hunting activities of other ethnic group. From this, the paper illustrates thewisdom of their harmony with nature, their survival skills in adapting to environment,and their way of living a civilized life. |
